The Soo Locks – July 24

24 Jul

We walked over to the locks today to figure out the procedure and it looks very straight-forward. So tomorrow, we will “lock-up” at 9:00 and should be in Lake Superior by 10:00! Here are some pictures of the boat going through today.

We will be heading to Goulais Bay and anchoring there for the night and if weather permits, we will go to Pancake Bay the next day.

Locks are neat. We have watched the boats go through on the Welland Canal locks a few times.
Continues to be hot here – wish it would rain. There are a bunch of fish trapped under the bridge on our street – the conservation people had to move some fish in Dundas last week. It is so dry here – no rain for a month. Wonder if the lake levels are down. How does that affect the sailing?
